The Glamour Chase is another Doctor Who book from the long-time Doctor Who author Gary Russell.

Set in nineteen-thirties rural England, this book sees the Doctor, Amy and Rory get involved in the politics surrounding an archaeological dig beneath the local school. However, things rapidly start getting more complicated as it becomes clear that various people aren't who, or more accurately, what they say they are. Many millennia ago an alien spaceship had crashed where the village would be. Brought down by enemy action the crew of the ship go into hibernation while they await rescue but it doesn't come and they are revived when the site is disturbed. But not all the crew of the ship have their best interests at heart, or more correctly, their interests are not the interests of the rest of the crew...

Along with the other books in the Eleventh Doctor series so far, Gary seems to have got a good handle on the rather more frentetic style that has been displayed in Matt Smith's first season in the role.
