If you are the eighth son of an eighth son then you're a Wizard (or Wizzard if you are Rincewind) and here it should end, but once upon a time, a Wizard broke the rules and had eight sons.

This was not a Good Thing at all, for the eighth son of an eighth son of an eighth son is not a Wizard, he is something more dangerous - a sourcerer - a fount of magic and not even the Wizards are prepared to handle that level magic in these degenerate days.

Unfortunately for the Discworld, the only saviours are a dyslexic Wizard, a psychopathic hairdresser and a murderous piece of luggage. All they need to do is head off the Second Mage War and persuade a psychotic Wizard's staff that it is in it's best interest to be destroyed.

Easy really!
