In contrast to the replicator, the uterine replicator does not actually transform something to something else (except in the traditional sense...).
A uterine replicator is a replacement for a female womb so a woman is not required to carry a foetus around in her own womb but can transfer the embryo to a uterine replicator where it develops in a normal fashion for the full nine months and mother can carry on her life without worrying about damaging her growing embryo.
