Mr Stephenson has written a number of novels that are borderline SF+/- with Cryptonomicon being a prime example of this dichotomy as it contains technology that is currently available but used in a fashion that is not currently mainstream. He has written a number of novels that are cyber-punk and a number of stories involving bio enhancement or nanotechnology.
