Hal Colebatch

(Born 1945, died ??)

Hal Colebatch is the son of Sir Hal Colebatch, a prominent Australian politician and wrote a biography of his father, Steadfast Knight. He studied politics to PhD level at the University of Western Australia and degrees in jurisprudance and law. He stood for the Perth constituency in state elections in 1977 and 1993 for the Australian Liberal Party, coming within a hairswhisker of taking it from the Australian Labour Party in the 1993 election.

As well as the biography, Hal has writen poetry and a number of stories set in the Man-Kzin mileau and regularly publishes books of poetry and reviews of a multitude of other subjects.

In order to reduce confusion with another author, Dr Hal K Colebatch, who is only a year older, our Hal now generally uses the bye-line Hal G. P. Colebatch.
